My intentions were to quilt this top just like the previous one. Through a comedy of errors, all of my own making, I ended up ripping the quilting out when I was over halfway through. After 30 hours of ripping out stitching, I just couldn't bring myself to try it again. So I used my most requested pantograph for baby quilts, Popcorn by Jodi Beamish.
This is Debbie's applique quilt--didn't she do a wonderful job? I don't know if this was a kit, but the fabrics and designs are beautifully balanced over the quilt. I love the recurring heart shape. I quilted a medium stipple in the background of the blocks, used rulers in the sashing and cornerstones and did an all over curlicue design in the outer border.
Diane's Hungry Caterpillar, semi-custom quilted. Variegated loops or X's in the "bricks". White thread stippling in the background of the butterfly and caterpillar. I used the same bright variegated thread to highlight some areas of the butterfly and caterpillar.
