ELIQ 2014 Raffle quilt

ELIQ's 2014 raffle quilt was designed by Roberta Leonard--a modern twist on the Trip Around the World pattern.  It was icing on the cake that the winner, Joyce Fischer, is not only a guild member, she's also an AQS certified quilt appraiser!

I quilted a combination of spirals and pebbles on the black and white background pieces, continuous curves on all of the 2" squares, and 1/2" parallel lines on the 4" horizontal and vertical strips.

The 8" blue strips were quilted with a Kim Brunner digital design.

There are, I believe, 192 four inch blue, purple, white, and yellow squares in the quilt.
I quilted each of them differently,
using Leah Day's www.freemotionquilting.blogspot.com for inspiration.
Don't worry, I'm not posting them all, but it was hard to choose!
Please keep in mind, the individual blocks shown below are all 4" squares.

ELIQ 2014 member raffle quilt

Every year, the Eastern Long Island Quilters Guild raffles off a quilt for the members right before the quilt show.  The members get one chance to win the quilt for each raffle ticket they sell.  This year, not only did I quilt the member raffle quilt, I also WON it!  Yeehi!!

The 4" squares are quilted with a digital design with the Pro-Stitcher, the 2" squares are quilted with a continuous curve design with a longarm ruler, the border is quilted with the channel lock function on the Pro-Stitcher, and the black background is freehand quilted with swirls and pebbles.

Ursula's Alaskan retreat quilt

Ursula went on an Alaskan cruise with some quilting friends a few years ago.  This was the retreat quilt.  The whale pantograph fit right in with this quilt, too!  For some reason, I don't have a picture of the whole quilt for this one : (
